Flowers at Sandals, Ocho Rios

I took this picture a few days ago in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. I don't know what type of flower it is but it is very interesting.

Interesting flower. I think there was a time I knew what it was, but it has long passed. I was in Jamaica 30!! years ago and found it beautiful and the people wonderful.

Wish I could get even closer to that red on the plant/flower. An architectural, structured-looking plant. Neat choice.

I could be wrong, but I think it's a type of heliconia. We have them here in Hawaii, too. (I think this is the second heliconia I've seen for Ruby Tuesday. Imagine that!)
